The Academic Advisory Committee is constituted at the institute level to plan, monitor, and strengthen the overall academic framework. The committee acts as an advisory body to ensure quality education, effective implementation of curriculum, and continuous academic improvement in line with institutional goals and regulatory norms. It facilitates collaboration between departments, promotes innovative academic practices, and ensures the holistic development of students through academic excellence and skill enhancement initiatives.
Objective:
This committee is constituted at institute level, responsible for regulating and implementing different academic activities. It provides guidance & support in improving and implementation of curriculum at institute level. The committee supervises the teaching learning process on regular basis.
Functions of Academic Advisory Committee
- To advise for the improvement of the teaching-learning process by adopting best academic practices.
- To guide faculty members for their professional growth and career development.
- To improve the overall academic and administrative environment of the institution.
- To regulate and implement various academic activities at the institute level.
- To provide guidance and support for effective implementation of the curriculum.
- To supervise and monitor the teaching-learning process on a regular basis.
- To ensure continuous enhancement in academic quality and institutional performance.

Mechanism of the Committee:
The functioning of the Academic Advisory Committee follows a systematic mechanism to ensure transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Flow of Mechanism:
- Constitution of Committee – The Head of Institute constitutes the committee with senior faculty members, HoDs, and external experts.
- Periodic Meetings – The committee meets periodically (once every semester or as required) to review academic progress and discuss key issues.
- Agenda Preparation – The Convener in consultation with the Chairman, prepares and circulates the agenda before each meeting.
- Review & Recommendations – The committee reviews departmental reports, teaching-learning outcomes, and student performance. Recommendations for improvement are recorded in the minutes.
- Implementation – Approved recommendations are communicated to concerned departments for action.
- Follow-up & Reporting – The progress of implementation is reviewed in subsequent meetings to ensure effective execution of decisions.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the programs of internal reviews of learning and teaching.
- Offer guidance to the College on existing and proposed academic programs and research.
- Provide a connection to potential internships/training opportunities for students, employment opportunities for graduates, and to potential research and service opportunities for the faculty.
- Finalization of workload, lab distributions and framing of regular time tables.
- Review of academic activity, attendance, student feedback analysis with class teachers.
- Recommend ways to improve and develop the training and skills programs offered by the college.
- Monitoring the progress of teaching and learning as per the prescribed syllabus.
- Preparation of academic calendar.
- Identifying speakers and organizing guest lectures.
- Identification of course and framing of syllabi for certificate courses for skill development.
- Initiate innovative practices in teaching and learning.

About The Committee: The Grievance Redressal Committee(GRC) serves as the Institute’s formal mechanism for receiving, addressing, and resolving complaints from both students and employees (both faculty and staff). This cell aims to provide easy and readily accessible mechanism for speedy disposal of grievances in a fair and transparent manner without fear of retaliation, thereby protecting individual rights and strengthening institutional trust. The GRC includes one faculty member from each department to coordinate and address complaints arising within their department.It should be noted that any grievance alleging ragging will be forwarded to the Anti Ragging Squad/ Proctorial Board Committee, and any grievance alleging sexual harassment will be referred to the Internal Complaint Committee.
The Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) is organised into two distinct cells:
- Student Grievance Redressal Cell — includes student members, this cell addresses complaints and concerns raised by the student community.
- Faculty/Staff Grievance Redressal Cell — Composed of faculty and staff members, this cell handles grievances originating from teaching and non-teaching employees.
I. Student Grievance Redressal Cell: A student complaint will be examined by the Grievance Redressal Cell which will take appropriate action thereafter. The Institute online complaint and suggestion box enables students to report any academic or non-academic issue.
The Student Grievance Redressal Cell is authorised to investigate matters of harassment.
- Any person with a genuine grievance may approach GRC members in person, lodge an online complaint or submit the grievance in writing if they prefer not to appear.
- Grievances may also be sent by email to the departmental GRC member, the Convenor of the Student Grievance Redressal Cell, or the Director.
- The Cell will advise students on treating one another with respect, decency, and tolerance when disagreements arise.
II. Faculty/Staff Grievance Redressal Cell: The Faculty/Staff Grievance Redressal Cell aims to address the following issues:
- The Faculty and Staff Grievance Redressal Cell addresses complaints raised by teaching and non-teaching employees and works to resolve workplace issues promptly and fairly.
- The Cell promotes a harmonious work environment by facilitating constructive Employee–Employee and Employer–Employee relationships.
- The Cell encourages faculty and staff to report grievances openly and without fear of victimization.
- The Cell advises employees to respect one another’s rights and dignity and to exercise restraint and patience when conflicts arise
Function of Committee:
I. Student Grievance Redressal Cell: The Cell addresses written grievances submitted by students concerning the following areas.
- Academic matters: Issues related to issuance of duplicate mark sheets, transfer certificates, conduct certificates, and other examination related concerns.
- Financial matters: Disputes involving dues, refunds, or charges for services such as library fines, hostel fees, and other college payments.
- Other matters: Complaints about campus facilities and services, including sanitation, transport, campus safety, and related infrastructure.
II. Faculty/Staff Grievance Redressal Cell: A Grievance Redressal Cell for faculty and staff has been constituted for the redressal of the problems reported by the faculties or staff members of the institute with the following objectives:
- To address the needs of faculty and staff and resolve grievances reported by teaching and non teaching employees.
- To uphold the institute’s dignity by fostering a strife free workplace and promoting cordial Employee–Employee and Employer–Employee relationships.
- To encourage faculty and staff to report grievances openly and without fear of victimization.
- To advise employees to respect one another’s rights and dignity and to exercise restraint and patience when conflicts arise.

Mechanism of the Grievance Redressal Cell: The Cell performed the below mentioned functions continuously to make the best possible efforts to create a harmonious and conducive atmosphere for everyone in question:
- The Cell attends to cases promptly upon receipt of written/ online grievances.
- The Cell convenes regularly to review all cases and prepares statistical reports summarising cases received, resolved, and pending that may require higher level direction.
- The Cell examines each complaint to assess its merit and determine appropriate action.
- Strict confidentiality is maintained throughout the process when required.
I. Student Grievance Redressal Cell:
The following mechanism may be used to lodge and resolve grievance (s)
- Students may submit complaints online via the Institute grievance portal: https://bbdnitm.ac.in/grievances/ or drop a form in complaint boxes located at prominent campus points, or submit the grievance in writing to the concerned departmental GRC member.
- The composition and contact details of the Student Grievance Redressal Cell will be widely published across campus.
- The GRC advices students to submitnecessary documents to support their cases.
- The GRC will take up matters that remain unresolved by the respective departments; financial grievances (for example, fee disputes) must be supported by relevant financial documents such as receipts or demand drafts.
- The GRC will processes written grievances promptly, reviews and reports on cases regularly, investigates merit impartially, maintains confidentiality, and acts on submissions received through the online portal or official complaint boxes with required documents.
II. Faculty/Staff Grievance Redressal Cell
The following mechanism may be used to lodge and resolve grievance(s):
- Aggrieved faculty or staff may submit a written grievance by dropping it in the grievance boxes located various location at E Block& M-Block, BBDITM
- Grievances may also be submitted via the college grievance portal at https://bbdnitm.ac.in/grievances/.
- Faculty or staff may address a written complaint to the Departmental Coordinator or Convenor, Grievance Redressal Cell, BBDITM.
- The GRC will act upon those cases which have been forwarded along with the necessary documents.
- Each received grievance will be logged, verified for completeness, and acknowledged.
- The Grievance Cell will investigate and ensure the grievance is resolved within the time frame prescribed by the Committee.
- The Grievance Redressal Cell will monitor the status and progress of each grievance until closure.
- The Cell will furnish periodic reports on grievance disposition and outstanding cases to the Chairman of the Committee.

The IQACof BBDITM has continuously endeavored to improve quality and support initiatives to enhance academic related activities. The committee, within its preview, aims to act as a quality assurance unit inside the institute, with the aim of developing methods for improving quality and eradicating flaws, directing the institute’s efforts toward achieving all-around academic success.

1. About The Committee:
Anti-Ragging Committee of BBDITM to ensure compliance with the provisions of Regulations as well as the provisions of any law for the time being in force concerning ragging; and also, to monitor and oversee the performance of the Anti-Ragging Squad in prevention of ragging in the institution. As per the order of Supreme Court of India and subsequent Notification from AICTE, Anti-Ragging Committee will take part in creating strategies and an action plan to reduce the threat of ragging at the college by implementing a variety of activities. Under Anti-Ragging Committee zero tolerance strict practices has been followed.
Objectives of the Anti‑Ragging Committee
- Anti-Ragging Committee responsible for inculcating Culture of Ragging Free Environment in the Campus as per guidelines provided by Government.
- Anti-Ragging Committee will be involved in designing strategies and action plan for curbing the Menace of Ragging in the college by adopting array of activities.
- The Proctorial board members are assigned the works of checking places like Hostels (Boys and Girls), Buses, Canteens, Classrooms and other places of student congregation.
2. Function of Committee:
The Anti-Ragging Committee is the apex body in the institution responsible for ensuring a safe, respectful, and ragging-free environment for students. Its core functions include:
- Policy Implementation & Oversight
- Enforces UGC/AICTE anti-ragging regulations and Supreme Court directives within the institution.
- Formulates and reviews anti-ragging policies, rules, and preventive measures at the college level.

4. Mechanism of committee:
The Anti-Ragging Committee functions through a structured mechanism involving prevention, monitoring, complaint handling, investigation, and disciplinary action.
- 1. Preventive Mechanism
- Orientation Programs: Freshers and senior students attend sessions about rules against ragging and consequences.
- Undertakings: Both students and parents sign anti-ragging affidavits at the time of admission.
- Posters & Publicity: Anti-ragging messages and helpline details are displayed across campus, hostels, buses, and online.
- Mentorship System: Faculty and senior students are assigned as mentors to freshers for guidance and support.
- Monitoring Mechanism
- Anti-Ragging Squad &Proctorial Team:
- Conducts surprise rounds in vulnerable areas like hostels, canteens, corridors, and buses.
- Reports suspicious activities to the committee.
- Vigilance: CCTV surveillance in strategic locations to monitor student behavior.
- Complaint Mechanism
- Students can report ragging through:
- Directly contacting faculty members, proctors, or hostel wardens
- Using dedicated helpline numbers
- Written complaints or online forms on the college website
- Anonymous reporting is also encouraged to protect victims.
- Inquiry & Investigation Mechanism
- Upon receiving a complaint:
- The committee immediately convenes and forms a fact-finding subcommittee.
- Statements from the complainant, accused, and witnesses are recorded confidentially.
- Evidence is reviewed, and a report is prepared.
- Action & Disciplinary Mechanism
- Based on the findings, the committee recommends action, which may include:
- Warning or Counselling
- Suspension from classes or hostel
- Expulsion or rustication
- Filing FIR if the case involves criminal offense (in coordination with police)
- Disciplinary decisions are communicated to all parties and recorded officially.
- Review & Reporting Mechanism
- Regular Meetings: Held at least twice per semester or as needed.
- Documentation: All incidents, actions taken, and outcomes are documented.
- Compliance Reporting: Reports are sent to regulatory bodies (AICTE/AKTU/UGC).
5. Role and responsibility of committee:
- The major postulate of the Committee is to maintain the overall discipline in the Institute campus including hostel, mess, canteen and student transport.
- To stop any behaviour that might be construed as taunting, treating, or handling another student in an unkind manner, whether it be by words, actions, or both, whether it be spoken, written, or both.
- To prevent any student from engaging in boisterous or unruly behaviour that annoys or is likely to annoy, burden, inflict bodily or psychological injury, or to inspire fear or concern in any freshmen or other student.
- To keep an eye out for any behaviour on the part of a senior student that inhibits, impedes, or otherwise upsets another students or a freshmens usual academic activities.
- To avoid any verbal or physical abuse, as well as public insults and other behaviour that may cause a fresher or another student to feel uncomfortable, whether it be by active or passive participation.
Mechanism: Following are the Mechanism of Anti-Ragging Committee:
- Spread awareness of Institute rules and regulations and maintain discipline in the campus.
- If any indiscipline occurs in the campus, student shall bring it to the notice of committee through proctor.
- A meeting shall be called to discuss the complaint.
- The views of each individual member shall be taken during the meeting.
- The recommendations of the members shall be sought regarding the issue.
- Anti-Ragging Squad will be working under the Monitoring of Proctorial Board and will seek advice from the Proctorial Board.
- To keep a vigil and stop the incidences of Ragging, if any, happening / reported in the places of Student aggregation including, Classrooms, Canteens, Buses, Grounds, Hostels etc.
- A gamut of positive reinforcement activities is adopted by Anti-Ragging committee for orienting students and molding their personality for a better cause.

The Anti-Ragging Squad / Proctorial Board Committee is a statutory body in educational institutions mandated to prevent ragging, ensure campus discipline, and promote a safe and respectful environment for all students. It monitors compliance with anti-ragging regulations and acts immediately on reported or observed violations.
Objective-
To eliminate and prevent all forms of ragging and misconduct within the institution.
To maintain discipline, enforce rules, and uphold safety and well-being of students on campus.
Functions-
- To implement anti-ragging policies and guidelines as per UGC/AICTE/NBA requirements.
- To conduct regular patrols and inspections to ensure ragging-free zones in hostels, campus, and student activity areas.
- To receive, register, and investigate complaints related to ragging or indiscipline.
- To recommend and enforce appropriate disciplinary action against violators.
- To organize awareness campaigns, orientation sessions, and preventive activities about ragging consequences.

About The Committee: The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is a statutory body constituted in compliance with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
The Act, along with its rules, is collectively called the POSH law. The POSH Act of 2013 builds upon the Vishaka guidelines laid out in 1997 by the Supreme Court of India. Every institute/organization with more than 10 employees is mandated to establish an ICC to ensure a safe and secure working and learning environment, free from sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination. The act applies to women working in the private, government, and informal sectors. As per the government guidelines BBDITM, Lucknow has also framed ICC Committee at institute level.
Composition of ICC (Institute Level): As per UGC guidelines and the Act, the ICC shall consist of:
- Presiding Officer – A senior woman faculty member (not below the rank of associate professor).
- Faculty Members – At least two faculty members committed to the cause of women and students.
- Non-Teaching Staff Member – One representative.
- Student Representatives – (if applicable) students from UG, PG, or research level.
- External Member – A person from an NGO or association committed to the cause of women, or familiar with issues relating to sexual harassment.
Objectives of ICC: The objectives of the Internal Complaint Committee to Prevent Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace are as follows:
- To develop a policy against sexual harassment of women at the Institute.
- To ensure the implementation of the policy in letter and spirit through proper reporting of the complaints and their follow-up procedures.
- To uphold the commitment of the Institute to provide an environment free of gender-based discrimination.
- To promote a social and psychological environment to raise awareness on sexual harassment in its various forms.
- To create a secure physical and social environment to deter any act of sexual harassment.
- To evolve a permanent mechanism for the prevention and redressal of sexual harassment cases and other acts of gender-based violence at the Institute.
Function of Committee:
- Conducts awareness and sensitization programs to prevent sexual harassment.
- Receives complaints, attempts conciliation, or conducts formal inquiries within prescribed timelines.
- Recommends appropriate action and, if needed, refers cases to the police.

Mechanism of committee: The ICC addresses complaints of sexual harassment through a confidential process involving conciliation or inquiry, completed within stipulated timelines. It ensures fair redressal, conducts awareness programs, meets once a semester or as required, and submits an annual report to the authorities. The Process for Complaint and Inquiry:
Step I:
An aggrieved woman should give a written complaint either in person or through post or email to the ‘Prevention of Sexual Harassment and Atrocities against Women Committee. The aggrieved should file the complaint within three months of the date of the incident. If the aggrieved woman is unable to make a complaint, her legal heirs may do so.
Step II:
On receiving the complaint, the ICC will inquire as per service rules or in their absence, according to regulations under the Act. The committee will complete them within 90 days. The committee will submit the report within ten days of the date of completion of the inquiry.
Step III:
If the ICC finds that the allegations against the respondent are proven, it will submit a report to the Principal to take action for sexual harassment as misconduct under the provisions of the applicable service rules or as per rules framed under the Act.
Step IV:
The college management will act on the recommendations of ICC within 60 days of the submission of the inquiry report.
Step V:
Appeal against the decision of the ICC is allowed within 90 days of the recommendations.

Role and Responsibility of Committee: The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) functions as a statutory body under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. Its role is to ensure a safe, secure, and gender-sensitive environment in the institution.
1. Preventive Role:

- To organize regular awareness and sensitization programs for students, faculty, and staff.
- To display notices, guidelines, and details of ICC members prominently on notice boards and the institutional website.

BBDITM has established IP Cell to nurture the spirit of innovation and translate these into products, processes, and services for commercial exploitation in wider public goods. BBDITM encourages all faculty, staff and students to document their IPs, so that these could be safeguarded and utilized for the benefit of nation, the institute and inventors. About the Committee- Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India has established ‘MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation among all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are informative years.
MIC has envisioned encouraging creation of ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs) across selected HEIs. About The Committee: BBDITM establishes the student counseling cell to provide counseling for psychological and other related problems of the students. The cell also works to develop self- confidence for preparation of competitive examinations and develop learning skills among the students.

Mechanism of committee:
- The students referred to the Students Counseling Cell through the office of Director-BBDITM, Dean Students Welfare and Students grievances cell will be addressed by the committee.
- The Committee members upon interaction with the students to be counseled will take up the task within the committee first.
- If required the professional counselors from amongst the various institutes/colleges in and around the nearby vicinity will be approached for assistance.
- In case medical help required parents/guardians of the students will be approached/ contacted to take care of their ward.
